Publishing Music Packs

Publishing Music Packs

This page explains what to check before publishing a music pack for NordVader Synced Music Player.

Before publishing

Test the pack locally in Space Engineers.

The world should include:

  1. NordVader Synced Music Player.
  2. Your music pack.

Build the player block and check that the music library appears in the terminal.

Steam Workshop description

The Workshop description should clearly say that the pack requires NordVader Synced Music Player.

Recommended text:

Requires NordVader Synced Music Player.

This is a compatible music pack. It is not a standalone player block.
Load this pack together with NordVader Synced Music Player in your world or dedicated server mod list.

Mention the contents

A good Workshop description should include:

  • pack name;
  • short theme or genre description;
  • required player mod;
  • artist list;
  • album list;
  • track list;
  • basic usage instructions.

SEMusicBoxMaker can generate a copy-ready description for the pack.

Thumbnail

The root of the mod should contain:

thumb.jpg

Recommended size:

1024x1024

Use a clear image that still looks readable at small size.

Update safety

When updating an existing public music pack:

  • avoid changing SoundId values unless necessary;
  • avoid deleting tracks that players may already use;
  • refresh metadata after changes;
  • test the updated pack before publishing;
  • update the Workshop description if the track list changed.

Suggested Workshop tags

Useful tags:

Troubleshooting before release

If the player cannot see your music pack:

  • confirm the pack is enabled in the world mod list;
  • confirm NordVader Synced Music Player is also enabled;
  • refresh music pack metadata;
  • check that sound definitions exist;
  • check that the audio files are in the expected location.
