Quickstart

Quickstart

This page shows the shortest workflow for creating a compatible music pack with SEMusicBoxMaker.

  1. Open SEMusicBoxMaker.
  2. Create a new music pack.
  3. Choose a clear pack name.
  4. Add music files or drag a music folder into the tool.
  5. Check the detected Artist, Album, and Title values.
  6. Fix names if needed.
  7. Import the music into the pack.
  8. Refresh track durations and library metadata.
  9. Set thumb.jpg.
  10. Generate the Steam Workshop description.
  11. Test the pack in Space Engineers together with NordVader Synced Music Player.

Step 1: Create a music pack

Create a new music pack and choose a name that is easy to recognize in Space Engineers and Steam Workshop.

Good examples:

NV Music Pack - Synthwave Collection
NV Music Pack - Arena Rock
NV Music Pack - Station Radio 01

Avoid vague names like:

Music
My Sounds
New Mod

Step 2: Import music

Add tracks by using the import buttons or by dragging files and folders into the tool.

Before writing the pack, check that each track has a clean title.

Correct:

Artist: Kino
Album: Gruppa krovi
Title: Gruppa krovi

Incorrect:

Artist: Kino
Album: Gruppa krovi
Title: Kino - Gruppa krovi

The track title should not repeat the artist name.

Step 3: Organize by artist and album

Use the Artist / Album / Track structure.

This lets NordVader Synced Music Player show a clean library in the block terminal.

Example:

Artist
  Album
    Track

Step 4: Refresh metadata

After importing or renaming tracks, refresh the pack data.

This updates:

  • sound definitions;
  • library metadata;
  • artist names;
  • album names;
  • track titles;
  • track duration data.

Step 5: Set the thumbnail

Use a square image for the mod thumbnail.

Recommended size:

1024x1024

The final file in the mod root should be:

thumb.jpg

Step 6: Test in Space Engineers

Load both mods in the world:

  1. NordVader Synced Music Player.
  2. Your music pack.

Build the player block, open the terminal, and check that artists, albums, and tracks appear.
